Very nice pictures paul but can i say i wouldn't use a hair dryer on birds. The hair dryer tends to dry the skin of the bird and the bird needs the oil that the skin makes for there feathers. The dryer can also burn your bird.I have heard from the vet about this not long ago this girl took her bird into the vet and she found out the bird had no natural oil in its skin to promote good shiny feathers from using a hair dryer so much. She now has too rub vegtable oil over her bird now. What i do when my birds have a shower is take them out in the sun and if there is no sun they go back into there room with the heater turned on to warm up the room. When a bird preens there drying there own feathers so theres no need to use a dryer.

Hello Paul When posting pics you will see a code looking something like [.img].................................[/img.] if you copy and past that into the post area you should be right also you might need to resize the pics as well i have been reducing them by 60% of the original size it makes it easy for people to view hope this helps if you need more help let me know we will gladly help regards bill

Hi Paul. love your pics of your birds So bright & colourful. Don't you find the bigger birds do tend to rule the house lol I know my indies do. As you said as long as your hair dryer is on very low & away from the bird & not near it's skin you shouldn't have too many problems with the skin drying out. This usually only becomes a problem if you are doing it on a daily basis. Keep the pics coming. Cheers Anna

Such beautiful colours! I read somewhere that eccies are very shy birds! Is that true, I mean those guys don't look shy at all! I thought that the sound of the hair dryer would scare them off! I know just touching one in front of my birds would make them all take off for the hills! Thanks for the pics, you son't get to see many of the more exotic birds or birds that require licenses up here. It's a shame really!

Hi every one thanx so much for your lovely post's sorry I havent replied sooner but I ha da visit from a dreaded computer virus that flyed my hard drive thanK god I back up my files all the time, hi AcaciaWattle My eccies are not shy at all except for when some 1 come's to visits then they will sit there watch them see what the visitor is all about they will do 2 things if they dont like them they will either try to bite them or wolf wistle. hi LoveMyTiels: the bigger birds think the rule the house but i think my sunconures are the boss of the house they are very brave little birds and wont take any bullying from the other birds I also found with the bigger birds if you train them at a young age the really respond very well if they get up high and you want them come down they way I trained my ecckies and conures is with amonds and peanuts and there most favourite passion fruit It took a while for them to learn but the sunconures pick up things quick smart they all seem to get along when i let them to exercise I will let the eccies out first then the sunconures later on the suns 95% of the time love sitting on my shoulder then they way have a fly around the house visit every room and there most fav, place to sit i the kitchen bay window where I placed a rope ladder I made they have a view of our yard hi John Thanx mate they are great every day when I come home they here my car come up the drive way they start calling out the get so excited and when I wake up in the morning and uncover them my sunconures both bopp there little heads up and down and my eccies start to chatter whislte I shall have some more pics very soon Hi Frank the eccies have got into the blinds and have a few holes lol they adont chew on my timber cuboards i provide them with branches and lots of toys to keep them busy I think if they get bored they will eat the house but I have been very lucky so far fingers crossed I'm from belgrave way cheers Paul
