Lovely birds, but how can you tell the difference, does the male have more red on its wings.

Well when they are older the male will have a ring like a ringneck. In the meantime the hen has a shorter tail and less colour on the wing and also the green is not as bright. Bit hard to see in the photo though.

I know that bird on top. Glad to hear he finaly has a name..Dont forget to spoil him..He loves his baths and to be feed from the hand..

Yes he now has a big bath in the aviary, as he was trying to bath in his drinking bowl. He has taken food off me this morning and hopped on my arm and hopped off again but we are making progress. He said hello and wolf whistled when I went in the aviary but I think it was for his new mate not for me!! ;D ;D ;D
