She's gorgeous, I just love the turks. I noticed that you were looking for turks, did you get all you wanted?

Soon a breeder had contacted me in Sydney and A friend and I are going halves in the freight. My friend wanted lots of hens so I thought I'd even it out a bit and buy some of his cock birds. I'm hopefully getting an olive cock, a jade green cock and a jade yellow hen!!! Haven't seen these mutations before so I can't wait

I haven't seen those mutations either, don't forget to post piccies when you get them. My little green turk is going into the nest again, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Last year all her eggs were infertile.

That's what it has been like for my red rumps this year. 5 eggs all infertile but it is their first season

Hello Amanda, It's a bit early for your red rumps maybe that has something to do with it, they should be just starting to lay now.

Hi John, You'd normally be correct but I do now of 3 bird club members up here in NQ who have already had Red-rumps lay and hatch. We got caught out a bit a few weeks ago with some unseasonal 'cold' weather for Tville this time of year...............I think it even got down to the low 'teens' !!
Even last season my own were down on eggs in early August.
Cheers Viraba

Wow that is early mine have just gone down and i thought they were early, it has been very mild during the day here in Sydney and I have had two lots of cockatiels hatch and the hens have gone down again and sitting on eggs.

Maybe being in the tropics causes them to start early. My red rumps are still at the exploring the box stage.

She is beautiful! Which sort of branches are in the cage?

The branches are just some Gum branches that fall naturally accross the road in the nature strip. The council very rarely sprays so they are an ideal source, I go thru so many! As for my redrumps, she is working the box during the day but sleeps outside of a night time. I don't think my male Gabrielle knows what birdsa and bees do
