Hi Guys, Just returned from 10 days in NZ with a school music tour and had the opportunity to see a bit of the local parrot wildlife. Have a look at these. The first 2 are yellow crowned kakariki's, the third is a Kea and the last one is a Kaka.

I'm off to NZ in a month's time which island were you when you saw them. The bottom one looks positively ugly to me. Don't think I'd like a bite from it. What was the weather like!

Hi Ollie, We just travelled the north island and the weather was pretty warm for NZ at this time of year. Not much snow for the kids.
The birds were actually in the Hamilton Zoo ......... not in the wild, though I did see a small group of kak's.
The Kea's have been known to remove the rubber from around car windscreens while parked at the ski fields of the south island. The Kaka is a slightly smaller version but you're correct ...........keep your fingures away
