Well this year has been kind to me and I have bred plenty of nice birds. Especially my new spangles and finally my pastelface platinums. My aviaries are getting fuller again as it is so easy to keep them all. Here are my 2 favourites that are definitely going to be squeezed in somewhere. pastelface Platinum male at 5 weeks Spangle unknown sex 3 months old Jo-Anne

Ok I am having a total blonde day here. I have posted pics before but for some reason it isn't working. I inserted the link inside the image tags as well but no success. Am I copying the wrong code from Image Hosting? Jo-Anne

Well done Jo-Anne you must be wrapped especially with the pface as i know how keen you were to breed one. At a guess and by the look of the face I think your spangle looks all hen to me but time will tell! good luck with them!

Thanks Frank. Yes I must admit I am leaning toward a hen too as its 3 siblings are whistling their fool heads off and it is just soooooo quiet in comparison. I guess that will leave me with the opportunity to test the theory about spangle hens being infertile. I also have a pastelface platinum pearl hen. Both she and the one above are split pied so now I am on a quest for some wf platinum pieds to breed with them. All I have seen so far are small poorly marked birds so I am still looking. Jo-Anne

Stop teasing me!!!!! All this started because of Frankie in the first place. I was very upset about losing him but decided to struggle on regardless and breed my own. I also have a pastelface lutino cock with a whiteface platinum pearl split pied hen that I am hoping will give me some pastelface platinos split pied. One of those will go nicely with the pearl I have just bred and just maybe I will get a pied. It is slow but as you say you are too far away and freight is the killer. But I want him realllll baaaad!!!!!!!!!!!! Jo-Anne

Well I have confirmation on the sex of the Spangle. I added some new birds to the flight today and he began strutting his stuff and whistling up astorm. So I have 5 out of 5 males from that one clutch...not 1 hen to be found. I would have expected at least 1. Jo-Anne
