Hi Deborah, Welcome aboard, This is a great forum with a lot of assistance given to those of us who need to know things !! I also have princess parrots (well 1 anyway). He was an 'upstairs' bird but didn't do himself any favours with the family calling at 5.00am each morning Now he's downstairs in company with 3 tiels...........have you worked out a way to keep the cocks quite If you have, please let me know !! This boy's days are numbered here (in suburbia unfortunately) if I can't keep down the noise Welcome Viraba

Thankyou everyone for such a warm welcome Sorry to hear you are having problems with your princess parrot viraba, however I have found the only time the cock is quiet is when he is busy being the good father and hubby to his hen. If you are after a princess for a quiet pet I would suggest a hen. I have one that I hand raised and she is just gorgeous, she will travel in the car on my shoulder, help me with the gardening and strut around like she is the queen rather than a princess. The only downfall is that the hen is less likely to talk. Cheers Deborah

::)Hi Deborah I am new to this site too. It is a very friendly site...I like it. Where abouts in NSW are you? I am on the South Coast. I have Eastern Rosellas, Crimsons, Pale Headed, Western Rosellas and one Yellow Rosella. I also have around 11 Cockateils. I am a wildlife carer too.

Hi Deborah & welcome to the Forum. I too have a hand raised blue female princess parrot. The only differance is she doen't stop talking & whistling all day long. People are amazed that she can talk but as she is in a cage in an area that has my pet teils & male ringneck she has learnt to talk very easily. whenever my ringneck learns a new word you can bet 2 days later she will repeat it & in his voice too. Unfortunately i can't handle her any more & she bites me on any area that she can find as she views my husband as her mate. Every time he walks pass her cage she whimpers to him lol .She is not quite one & i will not breed her till she is at least 2 but she is a very sweet bird to hubby. She is putty in his hands. Cheers for now Anna ;D
