Hi kims the name, I live in Nth Qld, and had never owned a bird untill a year ago when we got 2 budgies,we were also given 6 baby ringnecks to handraise after a snake killed their parents, 2 lutinos and three greens, the little one was only 2 days old and I was sure they would die, but they didn't and we are now the proud owners of the freindliest ringnecks you'll ever see, we love them so much, when we see them we can't help smile. They are so well behaved that we were offered $500 for Ollie who is only a basic green bird but he does shake hands on command, come when hes called, plays ball(with a cat ball)and closes the door to his cage when he's told to go to bed, we really didn't have to teach him these things he just kind of taught himself. We think he's very clever and wouldn't sell him for any amount. We had never even seen a ringneck before we got these guys and had no idea how sweet and clever they are. The other ones don't do tricks, but we love them anyway they are, Ducky, Daisy, Ziggy, Buster and Wilber. We are now breeding and handraising ringnecks, because so many people had asked to buy ours, and I love to hear feedback from people who buy my handraised babies, it is a wonderfull pleasure to live our lives with these beautifull creatures and have them also enjoy our company.

Sounds like you did a very good job there...You love you bird very much (like most of us here)...You cannot put a price of one that is loved so dearly..I still remember one alexandrine that i raised from the egg..he was such a great bird...I was not going to sell him at any money..but one day these people came over and brought him.. My ex sold him on me...but the people that have him did bring him over to visit once..3 months later, the bird still knew me..That realy upset me..and i dont think the people liked that very much..I never saw him again...I still miss him...that was 5 years ago.. Welcome Kim. I had the opportunity to h/rear a blue male indian ringneck last year that was abandoned by the parents. I would have to say that he is one of the best h/rears that I have. He lifts his foot up to say hello & goes back into his cage when i ask him to. He also talks non stop & learns new words I rekon every 2 days. He is also super affectionate & just wants to kiss me when he's out. He also likes me giving him tickles & I can stroke him all over. I was so impressed with ringnecks, that i went out & bought a pair, but might have to wait till next year but i am really looking forward to h/rearing some more. Cheers for now Anna
