Hello everyone! I found this site through a link from another site about tiels it looks like a great place to be I live in Sydney and have a 5 mth old platino tiel named Monty. I'm still not sure whether he is male or not..but we are hoping he is.. he is a delight to me and hubby, we love him to death..and he sure has accepted us as his "flock", to a point of being annoyingly attached to us, but we love him to bits i also have an olive budgie named Olly, but he lives with my parents about an hour away from here, since we moved out of their house and he didn't adjust very well, we left him there and he loves it. I am thinking of getting monty a bigger cage and using his cage now for some lovebirds, i've never had anything but tiels and budgies before, so i'm not sure about them at all. Also we're living in an apartment block of 4, so are they noisy? I hope to get to know you all..i love talking about my babies and asking questions hehe Talk Soon - Jo and Monty

Hi and welcome to the forum Jo ;D ;D Any questions you have, don't hesitate to ask Bill is right , I think lovebirds may be a bit noisy for living in units. Cheers Tony

hello jo depends on what size of bird you are after and how many if you are after a single pair and you have a decent size cage then i would recommend the princess parrots or if you wish to stay with the budgie size bird then the bourks ,turks or scarlets they are all good natured and dont make very much noise hope this helps regards bill

Hi if Monty is definately a Platino then he will be male as only males will have the Platino gene! ;D Also by 5 mths he would be singing away the cock's song and strutting his stuff as males do if he is quiet and petite with just a squawk every now and then it will be a hen! cheers Frank

I'm in the north of Sydney i tried to get into the chat earlier but i was at work and it was being silly, so i thought i better not do it right then hehe hmmm i'm thinking more and more that monty is a hen i really wanted a male..but i love him tonnes either way ooh princess parrots would be lovely..but i'm afraid i think we would have to be in a house somewhere before that...i'm always worried the neighbours will hear monty screaming out to us
