Hi Citrus & a very big welcome to our great forum. Cockatiels are very easy to breed giving the right conditions & breed just as easily as budgies. If you are after specific colors in your tiels then it is always a good idea to keep your pairs separate & breed in different cages. Some people do colony breed but there can be a few problems like fighting over nest boxes, & other males mating with females, but otherwise they are pretty good birds with each other. There are lots of people here on the forum only too willing to give you any advise that you may need to help you get started on breeding your on new tiels. Cheers for now, Anna

Hi Citrus, nope sorry can't tell the sex from the beaks, I wish it was that easy. Nor can you tell the sex from the cheeks patches or their crests. Frank & Jo-Anne have replied under the cockatiel section & I will add my thoughts too if it will help. Cheers Anna
