Hi Everyone, was checking out sites on scaley breasted lorrikeets and found this site. I have had my scaley for about 18 months and he is the absolute best. Has been talking since about 1 month after I got him and can't shut him up. Is a joy to walk out in the morning and here I love you usually followed by your stupid. Have had other birds before but none with the character of Chucky. Am looking forward to exchanging tips and learning more about my baby Lee

Hi Laplee, big welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a top bird there. Although not many people like ringnecks much, I have 2 males & I female as pets & although I am a big tiel lover, my ringnecks are just an absolute delight. They would have to be the best talking birds I have had so far, & so full of energy & charater. Even when they are snoozing they are talking into their feathers LOL. Cheers Anna

Think a trait of the scaleys is to be feral sometimes that is why we called ours chucky after the doll in the movie. he is such a delight though you can forive him anything. Only one problem with him, he has bonded to me and woe anyone that gets between him and me. We are not sure if he is male or female and he shows triats of both , don't want to breed so does not really matter , and he does not realise that he is a bird , recently showed introduced him to a friends lorrikeet and he leant towards her said hi babe I love you. Real smooth character. Looking forward to the forum

Welcome from me too, I have an Olive Rainbow and he is a fantastic talker. Not very nice at the moment though cause he wants a mate. Hope he gets over it soon as I am not happy about getting bitten.
