HI I live in Central Queensland and very pleased to find this Forum. Sadly, I lost my 4 year old male Eclectus yesterday through illness. (Vets think it was a problem from birth) I am looking for a new baby Eckie, maybe female and would appreciate any advice on good Qld Eclectus Breeders?
We have a Long Billed Corella who is 12 years old. He is my husband's bird and is very entertaining. Talks, Dances and Sings and is lovely but a bit hard for me to handle.
A new Eckie would be a companion bird for me.
And yes I am doing lots of research again on Eckies. We have a lovely home and can offer lots of love. And no our new baby will not be going anywhere near our Corella!
Would also be nice to hear some suggestions for unusual names for our new baby when we find her?
Many thanks Bishy

Hi Bishy. Welcome to AussieBirds. I know you'll get some info as there are several people with eckies here. I hope you find a new girl soon. You'll have to post some pics when you do.

Thanks so much, can't wait to hear from you. I would appreciate any info on Eckie Breeders. And any unusual names!
Our Corella is very funny. We have been trying to teach him to sing "Come on Aussie" but he made up his own version and sings "Come on Ralph"! He also says "Give us a kiss" and then makes a kissing sound. He constantly yells "Peanuts for Ralph", tells my husband he is a "Naughty Boy" and says "I'm a Good Boy". When visitors go back to his cage he just looks at them and when they walk away he says "What a Wanker"...bit embarrassing at times!
Would love to hear from anyone who also has a Long Billed Corella that talks.
Cheers

Hi and welcome to the forum! Yes I'm quite suprised our biggest eckie fan isn't back from her holiday yet! (lucky sod she is!) Tracey is in central QLD too so she may be able to help you heaps with some breeder names etc. Your corella sounds very entertaining ;D Birds, like children, know when to embarrass their parents! I don't know where I'd be if my birds didn't do things to embarrass me!!! Hope you find lots of info to help you and your "family" here
