hi everyone i went to a pet shop in bairnsdale today and saw that they had hand reared sun conures and hand reared green cheeked conures in together. They didn't have a price on them but i asked how much there sun conures were and there $800each. I then asked if i could handle one and guess what she said they haven't been handled all that much and will probably fly off,To me this does not sound like a good pet shop to buy birds from. Julie and george here in lakes entrance seems better all there hand reared birds are played with every day and are in a big play pen. I wasn't looking at buying this bird but just interested if they were friendly i know when i was near the cage one of the sun conures look like it was going to bite so i stayed clear of that one. The green cheeked conures seemed very friendly. I still can't wait to get my sun conure. My Mum is thinking of moving to queensland in a year or 2 and if this happens it will be a 3 to 4 day trip i will have my bird this year and was wandering if my parents did dicide to move to queensland would my bird survive the trip if i keep the food and fresh water to him,if its to hot on the way up to queensland we will have the airconditioner on. The other question is would he survive in a smaller bird cage until we get to queensland.

WOw a big more...No that pet shop did not sound to good...and maybe they where not even hand raised birds....Some pet shops do this...I would say your guy will be find on the trip...It is best for your guy to travel in a small cage..He will have to get use to the differents in temp's....once you have done the big move...He will be with you so that is good..And if he he used to a spray bottle that will help keep him cool...If you are moving to a very hot place...try and do the move in winter....That way he will slowly get used to the summers....that would help the whole family...
