g'day all my name is megan and i live on the far north coast of NSW near a little town called lismore.. i'm 20 in less then a month and have a real passion for animals... i have spent the last year crusing around the reptile fourms and have decided to join the bird world too i currently own a pair of cockatiels (just put their nesting box in) and dad has half a dozen breeding pairs of gouldians and five bubs just out of the nests.. i also keep 4 central bearded dragons and a centralian carpet python oh and a mini foxie... i spent an hour yesterday watching a family of king parrots in a camphour tree and i now want some!! any one know how much they go for? and if there easy to obtain.. if i find some at the right price i'll be getting my licence quick smart.. cheers Megz

G'Day Megz, and a great big AussieBirds welcome to our forum I love Lismore and have been there many times. King Parrots are truly great birds, they are not too expensive and usually sell for around $180 - $200 for a mature pair and are pretty well available at reputable bird shops, however, I believe they are not easy to breed and do require a lot of patience, but as pets I am told they are great. We all look forward to talking to you and hope you enjoy your stay here at AussieBirds.

OMG for a moment there I thought you were a Different Megz in lismore, until you said your age I was having a little "heart attack"! LOL Kings are pretty easy to obtain down south.... finding an actual pair is hard, a lot of last seasons young were males so females are hard to find. hope you enjoy the forum

I know where Lismore is.........on the northcoast of NSW? I have a couple of friends who originally came from there, but have lived here for over 20 years now. One of them used to be my tae kwon do instructor ..........he actually came from Armadale, his wife from Lismore (or maybe vise versa)

Hi Megz, Welcome to aussiebirds! I live about 1 hour north of you at Mur-bah, The big mountain is directly behind me and we have lots of wildlife here including heaps of kings. There is a guy up the road from me who going back a few months ago had several pairs of kings both young and mature for sale. If you want his number give me a hoy.
