Hi everyone! I stumbled across this forum while attempting to locate the name and location of a bird sanctuary in norhtern NSW that i read about a while ago and decided to join (yes i should be doing work, but at the moment this is more enjoyable!). I recently moved to Albury with my beautiful rainbow lorikeet 'TJ'. She's 4 years old now and although i call her a female, i really can't be sure! I hand raised her from when she was a bald little bundle after her tree was chopped down and she and her 'brother' were brought into a place i used to work at. She is the funniest bird and i love her to bits. She's really tame and is a great talker. At the moment she has a bath and tea towels fetish, not good when i need to dry the dishes and only own 4 tea towels which TJ has claimed as her own! Well i could go on forever with all TJ's little antics but will save some for future posts! Cheers Kylie P.S. No i haven't located the name and location of the bird sanctuary, if anyone can help me out i'd greatly appreciate it. Located somewhere close to the Murray River between Albury and Echuca i think.

G'Day epacris and welcome to our forum I have to admit your ISP had me wondering for a while then when i came up with Charles Sturt University as a location I did think that perhaps you were dodging some work, oh well never mind ;D.
There is no doubt Lorikeets make wonderful companion birds and I like to call them the clowns of the bird world, I have one in my collection and she is about 10 years old, I love her to bits, she talks her head off and loves to be tickled and stroked. She is getting on a bit now days and can get a bit stroppy if she doesn't get enough attention but she is a doll and I love her.

Yes, Charles Sturt is an actual location, I'm a student at CSU and it's the only internet access i have. Hopefully i don't get into trouble from the uni for using the uni internet for posting messages! Shal soon find out i guess! It is a public holiday though, so technically speaking i don't have to be doing work anyway!

Welcome to our forum. Your rainbow sounds wonderful. I have 2 of the little darlings , both are only about 9 or 10 mo and even though they're handrised I didn't do it and the previous owners didn't handle them so I've gotta start from scratch. Oh well it'll be a learning experience for all of us LOL
