Hello everyone, My names Bill, discovered this site while searching and pleased to find a large group of bird owners that have a genuine interest and eager to offer advise when needed plus a varied bird topic discussion , ..my birds are all Black Cockatoos, .. Red Tails, White Tails and Yellow Tails. I have kept and bred Blacks for many years, incubating the eggs and hand feeding, so hoping to hear from members with an interest in Blacks. Cheers, Bill.

Hi and welcome Bill. Whereabouts in the SW are you? I'm in Donnybrook. I have a variety of birds though the only cockatoos I have are a pair of galahs, the rest of my birds are aussie parrots except my alexandrine. I even have a red capped parrot that I handraised but I would LOVE a red tail one day. I have a friend who has a white tail hen though I can't remember whether she's a Baudins or Carnaby. Looking forward to hearing all about your lovely blacks and hopefully seeing some pics too.

OMG I almost had heart failure..........I am considering getting a Black 'too as a pet in the not too distant future. I will probably contact the breeder of my ekkie girl and alex girl as he also breeds Black 'toos (amongst many other birds).
you must tell us more about your birds about their pet potential and breeding etc. Oh and pics too, lots of pics. ;D
Oh and welcome too ;D

Hello all, ;D Thanks for your welcome, also to silvercloud, ...i live in Leschenault area, just out of Australind, just up the track from you. Yes Blacks really are special, as are all the parrot species, they are what you make them.Yes i do have some funny stories on rearing young cockatoos as they really are characters.(like trying to chase me around in the living room and landing in a full big bowl of warm custard) Wow!. When one hand rears young Blacks, you get a special bond and they to you, its very hard to give them up to the big enclosure but you know that you must if not to become a pet as they get too tame and wont leave your shoulder (or the top of your head). Will try and find my way around this site and attempt to send on some pics. Cheers, Bill.

Bill, to post pics you need to make an account with Photobucket www.,photobucket.com upload the pics you want, copy the img code then paste it into your post here. You can put several pics in a post. Hope that helps.

Thanks phil and silvercloud, have now got photobucket sorted, have been having allsorts of problems with uploads recently due to customer congestion in our area. The "nice people" that have total control of our line systems here in WA have a strangle hold through our ISP, so will forward on some pics in near future when i am able. Cheers, Bill.
