I finally took my last year babies in the pet shop and boy did I have a nasty shock . I was using mums bird cage, which has a wire bottom on it. She brought it for a budgie but it could have had 2 teil's live in it comfortably. I thought I would use it instead of my budgie cage as I was selling 10 teil's and did not want to cramp them to much and have fights. Hmpf was wrong there . Got to the pet shop and took the dark blanket of them and 1 of the babies had got his wings under the wire on the floor of the cage, and there was blood everywhere. Managed to get him out and he is home to recover but boy that shocked me . Mums cage is now cut up and in the bin. Still got to go back to see how the others went. Take care everyone.

Oh thats awful. Hopefully it'll be ok. I've not seen a bird get that trapped by the grate on the bottom of a cage.

Hope the baby bird is ok now. Yes it would have been a bit of a shock.

Just a quick note to let you know that the baby is doing fine, he is very quiet and does not move far but he is flying good and eating. He is a bit happier with some budgies keeping him company in the flight.
