Hi everyone, my name is Rebecca and I have joined after I found this site after cruising through some bird sites. I am into the weerio's and hoping to get a pair of Western Rosella's for some color in the aviary. My dad, before he died was into parrots big time and now my kids are getting to the responsible age, I have started getting into weerios, as they are easy for the kids to handle. I just love watching the babies hatch and mature and get their pin feathers as it is like a lucky dip on what I get. I am open to any ideas and info. ;D Rebecca

Hello and welcome Rebecca. Can't wait to see and read more about your birds. My little boy would like a pet bird, he is only 5 though. I have told him he can possibly have a budgie or a 'tiel, but I am going to possibly wait a bit longer first (as I am fairly sure I will be doing most of the looking after. LOL)

Welcome Rebecca. You'll have quite a fun time being a member of AB's. We are all a friendly lot that are diseased with a passion for birds with major complications!! LOL Tracey why not get your son a H/R neo? Not as noisy as a budgie or a teil and they are spectacular,as well as being very diff to the norm. Jane could poss help you out with a nice scarlet.

Thank you all for welcome. I am going to love reading all about your birds and when I finally work out how to post pics, I will be able to show my baby's off. Silvercloud, it is a beautiful area around here. I used to live in Frankland, before the parents move to Albany.

i had my 'teils in with my budgies at one stage. they got along great until breeding season. as soon as my 'tiels would hatch babies, the budgies would kill them or at least throw them from the nest. i love budgies with all my heart but i have to admit that they are aggressice little tcritters when they are breeding. I found it best just to keep them on their own. by the way, welcome rebecca!!!

The only time I have problems was last year when a female budgie take over a werrio box with babies in. As I am having problems with selling my babies I am not putting boxs in for either of them, but other than that I have no problems.

I also had a problem with a female budgie with my teils. She would attack my teils babies on the head and they then was left with a big scar. I ended up getting rid of the female budgie. p.s Love the white face too.
