Hi everyone... While browing through the web, l stumbled onto this site and see alot of similar things to me Some of you l recognize here ,other's not Anyway for those who don't know me l am "Greg" from Melbourne. I have been involved with Birds (feathered) since l was 6 years of age.Now l am 40 My interest's in birds started with Sparrows my dad gave me to see if l could care for them???.He was a Canary breeder and didn't want to take any risk's. I passed..and since then owned many birds and in particular parrots... Here is my current Main Avairy and flock of parrots... Firstly the back of the garage, which was not used so l built this avairy and cut a door in the wall for access also.. Heres the front of the Avairy were it all began.. for this avairy is 20 metres long and took 3 sections to build.Everytime l finished one section l saw an avenue for another until they all joined. Was told to pull up by my wife, so this is all (for know??) The side And now my flock.. Firstly my Mylo. Here's Pipi my daughter's Hand-reared Nanday Conure. He had a few issues with his upbringing and still is on calcium tablets for he was a neglected bird but is doing fine now. Here is two of my Rescued Lorikeet (Lorrie and Coco). Lorrie broke her wing in a storm in my backyard and is wingless due to necroptic tissue damage.Coco was given to me by the Animal Rescue Centre in Springvale for he was hit by a car and they splintered his wing and it didn't work so now l have a pair who have there own playstation(which l will show later). Here is my Princess parrot pair... I also breed many Cockatiels and have generations going back many years.. Here is a third generation (my favourite tiel) l have Better stop now for it's getting to long... I will post more pics in the photo section tonight and look forward to chatting to you all

wow Greg, great to see some of your birds and aviaries!! I only dream of having an aviary that big. My hubby has a machinery shed that I have plans to convert into an aviary one day when he isn't looking!! your teil is a nice looking bird. I have my pair of teils sitting on their first successful clutch at the moment so I am really excited about that!! I also have a pair of ringnecks and up until earlier this week I had an aviary full of budgies. that is until something (a big dog I think) went throgh the wire and most of the birds are long gone I did manage to catch a few of them again though so now im just sarting from scratch again... I also have my first 2 little baby king quail. I only found them this morning!!! YAY!!

yes I just realised which meeting. Looks interesting.
Hey Greg did your lorikeets have babies. I remember you had a male with one wing??? Or he couldn't fly for some reason, then you aquired another one (a female??). Do they still hang out with the wild flocks?

Eggs but no babies?? Will have to have avairy changes, Coming soon for the cubby house is no longer in use the one with one wing (Lorrie) turned out to be female and (Coco) male to my surprise... They have been laying eggs, thou the set up l have currently is not suited..December time l plan to convert the cubby house to a Lorrie avairy

Yep I had mine in their own aviary but moved theminto a much bigger (double the size) aviary as I wanted them to be able to truly fly...not that they couldn't before but I like to see them do "laps" in the larger aviary. Seems Boris has taken a bit of a dislike to the bantams in the bottom of "his" aviary now so once I move they will once again have their own space.....maybe than they will "perform" for me lol
