Hey guys!
My names Megan and i live in the middle of nowhere in a small town in the central wheatbelt of W.A
I currently only have one bird, he/she is a short billed correla who i want to get DNA sexed so i can get it a mate, we have had him for around 20 years:) I usually have baby pink and grays, major mitchells and other native birds that people bring in because they have been on the road or have been attacked, i hand raise these and then let them back into the bush when they have become independant and know how to look after them selves.
I am hoping to buy and alexandrine or an indian ring neck in the near future to add to my allreaddy exsisting zoo of animals:)
I hope to meet lots of friendly people on here:)
Cya megan:)

It is also a desert where I come from in South Australia. My mum and dad are thinking about moving where it rains a bit more. I don't really know how much it costs to get a bird DNA sexed as never really had to, some of the other members on this forum might be able to help you there.

I think you corella is a boy. His eyes look black or dark to me and if you have had him for 20 years.........I would have assumed he would have layed eggs if he was a girl. My Bo was a galah and I knew she was girl as her eyes were orange ish in colour but she layed eggs at around 13 or 14 years of age.
Welcome also and the pics are lovely. ;D

its strange tho, i dont know because i thought he would lay eggs too but then it displays what seems to be female behaviour because it digs holes in the corners of its avairy and then puts stra and feathers into them? hmm i dont know:) mabye ill find a femal and a male bird and see which one he likes best hey:P

In cockatiels the male makes the nest ready for the hen so I'd say Slack is practising for when he gets a wife

What was he doing? Working for Argyle diamond mine?

not sure who he was working for Jules, but I think it was a mobile concrete plant or something. He has worked in the business for many years and driven trucks as well as B doubles etc and wanted the experience with the mobile plant..........well that is my understanding of what he said yesterday.
