Hi, i have been visiting for a couple of weeks and have posted a few times but havnt introduced myself and thought it was probably time i did so.
Ok my name is Melissa, i'm married with 4 wonderfull children. I have 1 dog, an australian terrier named Arty that we got from the RSPCA last xmas as a gift for our children (and they love him to bits). we have 5 gold fish (nick named Paranas as they try to jump out of the tank when they want a feed.
We also have 9 fids.... 2 budgies, 3 teils, 1 eastern rosella, 1 grass parrot and 2 ring necks...and i think they are all lovely which is amazing as 2 years ago i had a slight fear of birds....ok now let me explain....
I loved birds but only from afar...I hated them flying around me and I was fearful of them bitting....then a few months back my hubbys boss had to give away his birds (the grass parrot, 1 budgie, one teil and the ring necks) so i jumped on line to learn more about these birds and found this forum where i have learnt SOOOO much about birds and slowly i have gained much more convadence than ever....i now can go into the aviary and have them fly around me with no worries (and love it when they land on my shoulder for a scratch or a cuddle)...and I have 2 budgies and 2 teils that have free run of my house (yes the birds are taking over lol)..so thanks to everyone
