Welcome Courtney, I hope you enjoy your self here! Alexs are great birds, I used to have one, but I had to sell him because I couldn't find a mate for him and he was really flappy.

Thanks everyone! I didnt know they lived that long until about 10 years after i got him lol..i read they live to about 25!!! Wasnt aware of that one. AHHH only six more days til i get to see my alex..i dont get to take it home yet cos it is still being weaned but ill take photos of it. apparently when i go to see it it will start to resemble a bird lol. My tiel has outlived any other animal we have had lol, gone through dogs, ducks guniea pigs, fish, mexican walking fish, other tiels...although we had a galah passed down to us that lived to about 80. We have done seeing eye dogs and have cared for wildlife so ive had animals around me all my life. Cant wait for my alex though, will be my first animal bought by me. I was three when my tiel was bought for me. He's funny bird. LOVES tissues and thongs lol.

lol ..... don't put all the toys in at once. Just a few and rotate them on a regular basis ....... weekly or fortnightly etc. That way if they last that long then he wont be bored.
