well congratulations on your baby. It will take more time than a "nap" for him to settle in. It usually takes a couple of weeks before you start to see the "true" personaltiy of a newcomer. I have never owned a red rump but others here have so they will be able to give you more info. But my advise is ......... plenty of fresh food and veges, (no avocado, chocolate or alchol .... for the bird of course ;D ) and I would use a mix of small parrot seed mixed with budgie seed for him to eat also. Have some toys in his cage for him to play with and give him some "out" time of his cage too.

Hi Chickiebabe Red rumps do have a nice song, you'll love it when he settles in and starts calling. I have spoken to a few people who said that when they sold their red rumps they had to buy more because they missed the beautiful song so much Tracey had good advise for you, fruit and veg and they looooove bottle brush branches to chew the leaves off ( only from trees you know haven't been sprayed with chemicals) Enjoy

Welcome! I love Red Rumps and have a few with 4 fledging early December. Their songs are complex and beautiful to listen to. When they sing you close your eye's and it takes you away . . .
