welcome and boy do you have some variety of birds. I am owned by a female eclectus and a male and female alexandrine, a male baby budgie and 3 canaries. I am in the process of buying a male eclectus for my girl as the aviary is going to be ready this weekend apparently. Long story............ like 7 months long. lol oh well it is going to be well worth it though.
I am very curious to hear more about you big green boys (ekkies) as my girl was my baby and she was just the best..........then she turned 2 and now is going into an aviary.....another long story but if you find my posts on eclectus or Skye you can read about it. I am thinking though of handraising a baby boy from them if they have any.
I handraised Takoda my alex boy and he is my "baby".
Welcome and looking forward to getting to know you and your birds ;D

Hi Vankarhi, Yeahhh ... kinda adicted to birdies .... first i wanted a sun conure ... but the price was alittle high at the time ... so i got my little whiteface cinnoman something "Ajax" .... he was fine until he hit 1 and then decided he didnt wanna play with us humans anymore Soo then i got my sun conure ... well it was meant to be a he ... the cutest little playful baby i had ... spoilt him rotten .... then we did the dna sex thing just to make sure ... and it turns out its a GIRLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL ... well now she is just a stuborn little cow who likes to scream the house down Loki my given to me by one of my customers (run my own bird related business) ... the owners traveled to much ... and didnt have the time for him ... he was 1.5 years old when he was left with me feb 07 ... he wasnt use to being handled or being with people ... the owner told me he didnt talk .. and wouldnt go down to the bottom of his cage ... Since being in my care i have got him stepping up when asked ... and a heap of other tricks ... plus some words like hello, loki, peek-a-boo and his favourite is "shutup" when everyone else is screaming you can see some of his tricks on my you tube link www.youtube.com/l0ttyI got jiffy my little whiteface pearl i think she is .... for a friend for ajax .... Then come along nifty my little cinnoman greencheek ... my friend handraised it ... and well i couldnt let her go to just any family Last of all is omo ... who i got at 2/3 weeks ... his mum wasnt feeding him good enough ... and had nipped off a couple of toes and had done something to his little leg But we've since had him to an avian vet and he is growing great ... now weighting 309g ... and his little leg is all better btw ... i love alexandrines ... i've cared for one and he is just awesome

yes the alex's are awesome and I still have a soft spot for my red and blue "monster". lol Nah I realise she is being a true blue dinky di eclectus girl, but she is no longer trustworthy as a pet as she can bite without warning and she has actually attacked me twice........when she bites she doesn't let go either.........I had to flick her off my wrist and there was damage to my wrist for about 5 months. Anyway welcome.
Do you own that birdie site I just looked at that board birds in Sydney? It looked great too. I might have to invest in a food dehydrator thingy (I am so technical as you can see. lol)

Ahhh yeah i've heard girls arent all that friendly after awhile .... thats why i went with another male ... i had one in my care over christmas and loki just loved him So fingers crossed loki will befriend omo as well Yeahhh i own that business ... tho i try not air it to much on forums ... as i have run into some trouble doing so on other forums I love to just chat and show off my feathered family the most Dehydrating is alot of work .. most things take at least 15 hours to dry ... and i have found its mostly the bigger parrots that like it the most

hehehehe yeah sometimes ... normally we only have 2 bad times a day ... morning time just before breakfast .... and early evening right before dinner time and then its only the 2 brats that are loud / screammy / whingyyy and thats Pino and Loki Loki learnt this whingy dog sounds from his old home .... he has cut it down alittle bit it is now start to sound like pino whinging ... but its has to be the most annoying sound ever I have some of it on my youtube site of loki talking and whinging to himself

aren't the ekkies so clear with their talking too? skye sounds so much like a human talking or the phone ringing or whatever and she can do things in context too. lol She is a clever.......but terrible little girl. ;D

yeah sometimes when loki is in another room he sounds like a little kid playing .... i offen jump up to see where the kids are ... then realise its just him i'd rather listen to loki mumble and grumble all day over pino screaming like her life is depending on being saved ... she is like one of those yapppy little dogs

PMSLOL .......... I was talking to someone this morning (Pauline actually) and while I am talking to her in one ear, I could hear Skye talking like she is a part of the conversation and it was so hard to concentrate and i had to actually block that ear so I couldn't hear her.............Skye that is not Pauline. lol Skye also rings like the phone now so well even I have gone to answer the phone and realise it is her. lol She also then goes "hello"................... "yeah"................. "oh ok"......................"ha ha ha ha ha" (just like me too apparently..........but I think she sounds like the wicked witch lol) and the conversation just goes on and on. Apart from her "hormonalness..........she is a lovely bird" unfortuneatly her hormonalness is a big part of her now.
