I'm new

;D Hello, my name's Kim. I have finished hand-rearing my red-collared lorikeet. He is now about 10 weeks old (I think - the breeder didn't have an age for him). I cannot think of a name for him but I'd better hurry up before he gets an identity crisis! I just know that I love him to bits and spend as much time with him as possible. He is living in the house at the moment (in a big cocky cage on it's side) which is equiped with ropes and swings and a few toys in the bottom. I will start putting him outside soon in the aviary so he can have more room. I just wanted him nearby so I could get the bonding process underway. If anyone has a good name for a cheeky little baby . . . I will consider all offerings . . . just haven't found the right one yet.

welcome kim.. sorry im not the best person to ask about naming birds..people quite often look at me quite strangely when i tell them the names of my birds. . I have Duncan the GCC, Cheepy the budgie and colin the galah who is my newest adition to the family!!!

Thanks Katie, I love your names, I had a friend who I met when we were in WIRES and she had a duck named Greg. I thought that was absolutely hilarious . . . in a good way!! I am still searching for a name for my baby. I am a bit fussy and have to find the right one. I'd better hurry up - my fiance is calling him "snickers" among other things.

Me too and quite appropriate for a lorikeet as they often sound like they are snickering at people when they are playing.

oh ok . . . three people agreeing that the name is good is ok with me. Cameron will be happy that his name made the grade. Thanks to the other great names that were offered though. He is officially named! Yay!! "Snickers" Phew . . . I'm glad that's done.

Thanks Gregoh I have put some pics under 'My Bird' in "Post your bird pics here" but I have been busy taking more. I will have some more to put up soon - I think every one will be sick of the sight of him before too long. You'll be like "Geez . . . more pictures of Snickers. How many photos can she take???" ha ha
