Another Newbie

Hi ALL!

Another newbie here! My name's Kat. I'm 30 y.o., I'm a mummy of three energetic boys. I'm married. I live in Australia NSW.
I absolutelly love birds, especially parrots - all I think about is my parrots and how to get more! ;D
Currently I have two Red-Rumped (male) parrots and a Green Cheek Conure....I would also like to add to my collection...
A Sun Conure, IRNs, breeding pair of eckies, pair of quakers (one blue and one green) a janday conure, pair of black headed caiques, few turqoise parrots, few lovebirds, few parrotlets, a galah, a king parrot and possibly a cockatoo.... :

I look forward to meeting you all and am very glad to be able to talk birds with people!! My FAVOURITE topic!!!!!! ;D

Welcome to the forum Kat. It's kinda hard to stop once you get addicted.
Just a word on the parrotlets, there's not many in Australia and they're pretty tightly held by breeders. They're absolute cuties though and I'd love a pair myself.

Hi Thanks all for the warm welcome!! Once I work my way around the site, I will post some pics!! I'm glad that I'm not the only one when it comes to bird addiction - I'm a full-blown birdaholic and it is a struggle for me to tame my self when it comes to getting birds - right now the finances are low, so I'm suggesting to my husband to go on "who wants to be a millionaire" so that I can continue to fuel my addiction

I had a real estate person come over today to do an appraisal on our house and she saw Skye and thought she was a king Parrot (yeah I am used to it now) lol

Then she came inside and saw Takoda and Peppa and the canaries on the back verandah. Then she saw the pics on the walls, then she saw more ornaments and then pics in the spare room of "my" birds and dogs and she commented....... "gee you must really like birds" For the first time ever I actually felt a little embarressed realising how much "birdie" stuff I do have. lol

LOL I need a new house just to house all my "bird-related-productss" coz it won't all fit in.
My next door neighbour thinks I'm crazy because I keep getting more birds - she thinks I'm having a mental issue and need to get out of the house....how can I explain to her that all I want to do IS get more birds and be with them ALL the time....some people just DON'T understand...do they

Wouldn't that be the dream!! In one of the USA bird magazines, I saw an add offering people a job, where they stay at home and just look after lots of parrots and get paid for it - the company even provides you with any training you might need. I have considered moving to the USA purely for this reason
