hey all who breed budgies.
what colors are cropping up this season? budgies have to be one of the most widely coloured of species around.
also, does anyone breed budgies in northern brisbane that is a forum member?

Hi Sen, I'm not really a "breeder" as such, I just have a lot of budgies that breed, if you know what I mean. I let them choose their own mates and some of the pairings have produced some really pretty birds. I have bred 2 whites, in the last couple of yrs, and these are my first Lutinos. Mum is a patchy yellowy greeny girl, not the prettiest, and not the best Mum, spending a lot of time "chatting over coffee" with the oldest chick keeping the rest warm. Not sure who Dad is as there are 3 males feeding her and the chicks, I not even sure she knows,...tart sue

sue,
sounds like 1 kinky aviary there.
so just ordinary pet type budgies then not exhibition or english lines.

Hi the latest colours i've been getting are 2 pieds 1 is a blue and white the other is a yellow and blue and these 2 came from a normal blue cockbird and a yellowface blue hen. then another pair produces babies that look pue white until they are fully feathered then they get a tiny bit of like cinnamon on the wings and the longest tail feathers are cinnamon, some told me they are called fallows but i really don't know.
and i get albino, lutino and black eyed in both as well.

way to go birds77 (anna)
gotta love lutinos i must say.
ok. anyone know what a h/r baby budgie should cost? a shop here is selling them for 45 bucks. mind you they sell rosa-bourke babies for 40 each.
the rosas are so cool. you can put your fingers against the cage bars right next to them and they just do nothing. even better than the budgies responses.
