The bigger birds are around 2 weeks old now Bill maybe a week and a half. I dont hand raise Frank but I do hangle the birds as often as possible and by the time they fledge they are all hand tame which makes them easy to sell, I'm pretty sure I wont have too much trouble moving the Lutino birds.

The baby budgies are so cute. What colours are their parents. Hi Laraine, the Lutino babies Mother is a Fallow and dad is a Yellow Face Blue it's the first clutch for her so she has done well. The bigger bird which is, by the way, going to be yellow in colour the mother is a pied and dad is also pied but mostly yellow in colour. The two little ones that are brand new mum is a plain green hen dont know what colour dad is yet. John

When you say fallow, what colour is that? A fallow budgie is grey with spangle wings and red eyes Larain I bought her as a young birds only six months old purely as breeding stock. John

I've seen lots of grey budgies in my time, but none with red eyes. I'll have to keep my eyes open, are they much more expensive then ordinary budgies.

Hi Laraine, No they are no dearer than normal budgies in fact I bought it from Kevin at Better Birds for I think $17 I have actually bred one a couple of years ago.

I was over at Better Birds on Saturday morning buying a Scarlet. I noticed that his budgies were a lot cheaper than normal bird shops. I've got one question though about your budgie photos. It's about the different patterns on their wings. I've got two out of the nest with the same patterns. Are they both called "spangles"?

Hi Laraine, the pattern on the wings is referred to a spangle however this doesn't mean that the birds are called spangles it would depend on the colouring of the bird as to it's name for instance if it were a pied it would be a pied with spangle wings.
Yes better birds are very cheap when you compare their prices to other places, Kevin is very good with his prices and his birds are always good and healthy.
