1) Would you give your bird rubber stabilizer or a pesticide to eat?
-I'm hoping you said no, but 90% of parrot food pellet manufacturers have these lethal ingredients You can look them up by their names as:
Ethoxyquin, BHA, BHT
2) Would you feed your bird an ingredient that has a warning that reads 'Person who handles needs to wear protective outfit, gloves, mask and glasses!?!'
-I don't think so. But if you buy parrot pellet food off of the shelf of any pet store, they probably have the ingredient 'Menadione', that has that very warning.
3) Would your child be well behaved if he/she drank a 6 pack of soda LOADED with sugar every day?
-Your kid would be hyper as hell, and not really calm and collected. This could be why your parrot shows such aggression to you.
the solution is to switch to organic products. but please dont just immediatly change your birds diet! COPYRIGHT Chet Womach

pellets are something I feel strongly about, I think I would hate to be served a bowl of the same tasting cerial for every meal, and my birds would be the same, seed besides being natural offers variety in tastes and textures, each seed tastes different which is why some birds pick all their favourites out first, most pettets tast the same, I don't understand why spend $ on toys to enrich a companion birds life only to take a step back by offering the same boring food each day, sure they may get fruit and veg, but I feel the more variety the better and happier the bird.

I never liked the idea of feeding my birds pellets, however, when weaning birds, i offer seed, pellets, fruit and veg. Then, once the birds are weaned, you can stop offering them pellets.

I've never been a fan of processed food for any human or animal. You can't copy what nature provides. Even whole foods need to be handled and stored correctly so as not to loose nutritional value. Having said that I did succumb to buying pellets when I had the chick with the deformed beak, I thought it might be able to eat them better than seeds. She wouldn't touch them so I sprinkle them through the tiels seed just to use them up. So much for being less messy!! They pick them out to nibble on and then drop them on the floor of the cage and out of the cage too. Then they take it to the water bowl and drop them in. So I definitley will not be buying them again.

I do not feed my birds pellets or my dogs artificial (canned) food. My birds get seed and heaps of fresh fruit and veges plus whatever we eat.............no chocolate, or avocado or alcohol though (I hate to share that stuff anyway ;D )
