Does anyone know why budgies get into their seed bowl and scratch all the seed out. I have one at present in the cage inside which is doing this and making quite a mess. I gave one of my babies to a friend and it is doing it as well. She was worried that it wasn't normal behaviour. Both birds are females and still young.

It's quite normal behavior for budgies Laraine and is no cause to worry. It would appear that all they are doing is looking for one particular seed and discarding all the ones they don't want, I can fill the seed hopper in the budgie aviary and they will fill the catcher in no time flat what I do is just empty it back into the hopper and they then eat it ........... strange birds budgies.

A hopper is a container that hangs on the wall of the aviary that will hold a large amount of seed they come with a catcher that sits under them to catch the seed and stop it from getting all over the floor, you should be able to get them from your aviary supplier.
