I have not had any luck with my budgies, they're laying eggs occasionally but throw them out (this time after 2 and a bit weeks).
The breeding boxes have all come out today, I'm fed up, they can just be 'non breeding pets' (which I don't mind btw).

Its a puzzle why your budgies are behaving this way. Maybe you should introduce a few new members next season. I've had great success with my budgies and cockatiels this year. It can be frustrating, I'm having the same trouble with my Red Rumps, lots of clear eggs and one baby that died, so I have taken breeding boxes out as well until next year.

My cockatiels have 2 babies in their nest at the moment, but i think i might also have to introduce another pair of budgies because my pair now just wont breed ever since the hen recovered after mysteriously injuring herself.....
