Hi all,
I have attached a photo of our boy budgie, in the last couple of days he has started sitting on the top of a breeding box. He doesn't appear to be ill because he'll just start flying around and making normal noises at all other times. I've lost two budgies in the last 3 weeks but they both had bad diarrohea before passing away. This boy does not have any sign of diarrohea at all, he's eating fine, is this just a behavioural thing, (he's also starting to get interested in a girl at the moment, so I'm wondering if it's this that's making him do it). Has anybody else had their budgie do this???
The second photo is the same budgie 1 minute after the first photo, and to me (an untrained eye) he looks fine. What do you think?

I'm thinking it's a behaviour thing too, I have two budgies that sleep in funny positions too and I posted about my budgie goliath sleeping on the floor. Just keep an eye on him for a while to make sure it isn't anything serious but it makes your heart stop when you see them the first time.

Hi shelly if you can catch him up and just check the soles of his feet for any abnormalities as possibly a way of resting when feet are sore or suffering Bumble Foot! cheers Frank

One of my budgies is doing the same thing only on the floor of the aviary but I just took 7 eggs off her that she has been sitting on for about a month none fertile. I think she is sulking.
