Ok i was at the vte at 4:45 pm today and explained that lucky a tame budgie was vomiting and that he vomited 2 times yesterday and once today he gave the bird a good check up and then gave for Tetravet powder ? what is that in aid of ? . he is not as good as Doug my normal vet but he is on holidays and thos vet is not a avain vet . I hope it will help lucky becuase he set us back $58.35 for this tetravet and 1 check up . but please try and help me understand what this does and what you think this bug might be ?

WOW that's actually a cheap visit! Tetravet is tetracycline, an antibiotic. It would most probably be a bacterial infection and I'd say that's what the vet thinks. Unfortunately vomiting is a symptom of many illnesses and a gram scan (a smear of poopies on a slide and examined) would help in identifying the illness further. I don't know about your area but a gram scan up here is $25.
watch the budgie and see if you can see anything else unusual like an irregularity in the poop etc to help further with a diagnosis.

That is not what i would call a cheap vet vist as i have been known at the vet to get away with only spending $15.10 and ok i will watch out my vet charge ( doug ) is $18.90 for one of them but as i said If any more things go wrong i will try and treat him myself and wait for Doug as doug is a lot more helpful . what could the infection be from ?

seeing as though I paid $101.95 for my last visit including meds (at 38.95) yeah your's was dirt cheap

infections can be from poor husbandry, dirty water, stress, something they picked up from other birds, something that lay dormant and waited for the right conditions. It could be anything!

That's OK it's very frustrating when they are sick and I just went thru an illness with vomiting and my little man didn't make it but my girls are doing great!
