Hi all,

My little girl budgie (about 5 months old) has started throwing the seed out of the container, she started this on Tuesday, we didn't notice till Wednesday afternoon after she emptied the second container in a row. I did separate her from the other 4 birds as they weren't getting any food. Has anybody else had birds do this? Should I keep her separated? It's very annoying as the seed is just getting thrown on the ground and wasted.

Hi Shelly, could be that she is looking for her favourite seeds, hence why she is going into the container & throwing the rest out. If you can observe her find out if their is a particular seed she is looking for. Maybe John might have some more ideas. Cheers Anna

I have been having the same trouble with one of my young budgies. She gets in the seed container and scratches all the seed out. I gave her sister to a friend and she is having the same trouble. Also I replaced the shell grit and one of the other budgies put it all out onto the floor. Strange birds.
