Just want to let you know that my widowed budgie has two babies doing well and the only male in the aviary who has a wife with 3 eggs is now in with the widow helping with her babies. How fickle these birds are. But at least poor mum has another wing to lean on ;D ;D ;D

That is great news Bev. They sure can be funny buggers budgies, but at least she is getting help. Don't be surprised if he takes on 2 wifes & you end up with more fertile eggs from your widow. Cheers Anna

Only one baby now but it is big and fat so looks like it will survive. She still has five eggs in the nest I don't know whether to leave them or take them out!

Thanks Frank I will. Just thought it might be too much but the male other male seems to be sharing himself between the two females so here's hoping.
