I had a spare aviary so I spent yesterday (Saturday) and the best part of today "fixing it up" I then got all my baby budgies all 21 of them and they now have a new home so i know have two budgie aviaries one for breeders and one for babies ;D ;D. It makes life so much easier when you are trying to find a baby.

Hey John, thanks for this post. Now I have the evidence I need to get hubby to build another aviary. I have one with the breeders in, plus a couple of single cocks. Hubby finished building that last weekend. I also have one with the breeding cockatiels, plus one single cock and a young hen. But when I put the nesting boxes back in after summer, I will need another one for all the budgie babies, plus another one for the tiel babies. By then, the lovebirds will have had their babies too, so that makes another three aviaries!!! That sounds fair enough, doesn't it? Hubby will be soooo pleased!! ;D

I am finding that this is the way to go with the babies it keeps them separate form the breeding stock and tends to control any outbreak of contagious diseases like scaly face that the older birds tend to get.

---Nod nod--- I also find it easier to show people what I have for sale too... sometime people forget which ones are for sale if they are all in together...
