Hi All I have recently inherited a rainbow Lori; the problem is that he has a bad temper when he does not get his own way. When I first let him out of his cage he is fine then he starts nibbling at your skin and will continue until he draws blood if you let him then when you try to remove him he is like a fly on a wound and becomes very persisted and aggressive .He seams a lot better with me as he will not lash out with any serious biting but is very agro with my wife. Full on, feathers flying attacks. Now she is petrified of him, which does not help as he properly has already put her below in the pecking order. Other than this bad habit, which needs to be corrected, he is a good bird. I think he may have a taste for blood Any suggestion on correcting this would be a great help Thanks Cheekyguy

You don't say how old he is and if he is a "he" it's most likely because it's breeding season. I have a pet male that I have had since 8 weeks old and he is about 21/2 years now and this season he has started to bite. He gets very possessive of his sleep hut and his toys and I have a problems cleaning his cage too. Don't know what you can do except get a mate for him or wait till breeding season's over and hope it hasn't become a habit. Hope this explains what could be the reason.

Thanks Ollie Well not really sure how old he? may be but I am assuming that he? is not that young and the possible cause maybe breeding season so if this does continue looks like I will be getting another lori
