well, the story goes like this , I got this ringneck from the pet shop because it was in bad condition and needed some TLC i seen him for weeks and it made be really sad so i got him . he has no flight feathers or a tail . his about 1yr old and i want to see if i can tame him , lucky is his name and if i can't tame him,he will just go to an avairy ( i plan on selling him to someone when his in good condition but only to someone that is worthy of his company) anywayz i think he'll be a good pet. I was wondering if anyone knew what i should do to tame him. I have been putting my hand in his cage and today just sat near his cage so he would get used to me being around , what else should i do ,any suggestions ? cheers tori

try to give him treats and just talk softly to him. Keep putting your hands in the cage and offer for him to step up. If it is a girl you will want to make sure she does not become territorial about her cage because they can become very nippy and they do need to be interacted with every day. Even the males need to be handled every day but the females tend to be more nippy and territorial. I owned a lutino ringneck and she was only 12 months old when we lost her but I am sure because of her personality she was a she.............I was the only one brave enough or stupid enough to handle her. LOL
good luck with it.......remember patience. I know of a woman in the US who has a ringneck female and it has taken her a long time but the bird is now apparently a lovely bird..........still nippy but lovely.
