I have a corella who is very tame and very friendly, you can pat him and cuddle him but he doesnt know how to step up or climb up onto you. I was wondering if there are any tips you could give me to help retrain him to step up when i ask without him biting my fingers off because it really really hurrrrts!!!!

You could try putting your hand underneath him and pull your hand up slowly and say step up,if you keep repeating that he should finally get it. My tame galah is opposite to your corella. I stick my hand in the cage to change his waterv or something and my arm comes out with a galah sitting on it!

Hi megzly have a read of the advice Tracey ( vankarhi ) gave today in the Foreign Parrots section for an alex, I'm sure they same techniques can be applied for your corella

Thanks Jane ;D
One of the things I did forget to say in that post was to do it for short period of time but a few times a day. The bird will eventually learn to trust you and he will learn very quickly that when your hand comes into your cage.............he comes out. LOL
Yes my female alex likes to hop onto my arm as soon as it is in her cage to clean it. I always come out with an alex. LOL Takoda is similar too. ;D

Megsly the main thing to remember with your older bird.........it is not impossible to retrain him but you will need a lot more patience than with a younger handraised bird.........but it will be worth it in the end. Just patience, tolerance, gloves (lol) and he should be stepping up.
