Has anyone had experience with the CD's that claim to teach your bird to talk. You put them on to play the same track repeatedly (while out of the house I assume so it doesn't drive you crazy) and the bird ends up saying the phrase you have selected - possibly in a Yankee accent since the one I have seen was a USA product.
Any feedback much appreciated
cheers,
Mike

Mike I have used the feathered phonics cd on my Alexandrine boy Vincent. I have 4 different ones. When he was a baby and I was handrearing him I played a couple of phrases over and over again for about 30mins every day some days twices a day for months. Vincent is the best talker and so clear in this speech, but he never said any of the phrases from the CD only what I taught him to say. So I thinks they are a waste of money.

I made my own cd up from the computer with me saying things and I bought a kids nursery rhyme cd too.
All my birds talk and none of them say what was on any of the cd's. lol I have found my birds actually pick up just from what they hear us saying and what they hear the other birds saying.

I've not tried to teach any of my guys to talk - Jedi used to imitate me whistling and would mumble 'Hello' and 'Pretty girl' - Trouble will make kissing noises, but not much besides that. I'm kind of leery of speech training CDs, cause to me they remove the context of the speech for the bird. Also, I know they'd drive me and everyone else in the house batty.

My friend has a Budgie that she got a phrase tape for (this is going back a few years) she would put the Phrase tape on and then select repeat option on the player. The bird now runs through a list of phrases or selects one word and says it a few times them there is a click sound, the sound of a tape rewinding another click and we are back to the phrases. Drives everyone nuts when he does it for 2 or 3 hours at a time!
