Hi All, I don't know about other species of cockatoos but Gang Gangs are not surposed to like going to the ground for anything. People i have spoken to say they have never seen their birds on the ground. I have heard other species do enjoy picking, digging etc. I think my birds have lost the plot as they are not only quickly going to the ground to get something but they are STRUTTING around the floor! They are even spending large amounts of time down there destroying their perches from the bottom up! I don't really mind this but it is getting a bit nuts when Molly walked right across my foot this morning and then told me off for not moving! Is there anything i should be worried about? Their aviary is very clean and i pick up all the left over feed etc daily. Is something lacking in their diet maybe? Or are they just 'inderviduals'! Cheers, Sal.

I have seen them on the ground..Sounds like they are just having some fun...I would not worry to much as you said you do clean and I most birds do like to go to the ground for a dig....Some times there are looking for bugs, and minerals...I dont know what you diet is to know if they need some thing else...Some time they will eat dry dog food, cooked chicken bone (leg)..
