Also whether they are succesfully handraised. Can any body help ?

Hi I've looked into king parrots quite a bit lately, and they make excellent handraised pets or so I've been told, also a mate has one and it is very affectionate, I have been told that they can be a bit noisy which is why I chose not to get a pair, but my mates bird seems to be fairly quiet.

I know of a lady in the Newcastle area and she had a wonderfull King Parrot calle JJ, unfortunatly it passed away just recently from heavy metal poisening and complications, he was the most wonderful bird you could ever want. Personally I love them and if i had the room I would most definatly have a pair, one of the best Aussie Parrots. I know of one breeder that was having trouble getting them to breed he finally overcame the problem by using a plastic garbage bin ( not a wheely bin) and cutting an entrance hole in the top of the bin, they do like a deep breeding place with a high entrance.

All parrots, with persistenc, will take fruit and vegies. They would need plenty of these plus a good quality seed mix. I can't say about pellets as I don't like to use them and won't feed them to my birds. Try finding a deep log for them to nest in. I can't help you more than that as I've never kept them, just looked into getting some when I have more room.

King parrots are pretty quiet, You do need a licence to keep them though. I know of a fare few breeders and I'm not 100% sure but a guy I know might have a pair or two that he's willing to sell. I'll ring him on Wednesday if you'd like me to? You can email me if you want... this_is.a.fake_adress@hotmail.com It's real, The the address isn't spelt right lol.
