Hi Everyone, Can anyone give me details on how to tame a young parent reared corella? I know patiece is the key but, I dont know where to start. Ive place him in a hexagonal 5ft by 10 ft aviary. It has started to come towards me for treats but still a bit weary and scared. I appreciate all the help I can get Thanks everyone! Anthony ;D

Hi Tonyo The trick is not to show you are frightened of the bird, if it's possible spend as much time as you can sitting and talking softly to the bird giving it treats and gaining it's trust. Make attempts to stroke the bird through the cage and try to have as much contact with the bird as you can.
Birds will bite single fingers if you poke the finger at them so present a closed fist to the bird and allow it to touch your fist try not to make any sudden moves towards the bird and don't pull your hand away in a jerking manner, slow and steady is the clue here. If the bird attempts to bite you use a firm voice and so NO!!! in a firm manner. It will take time but well worth the effort they are lovley birds and make great companion birds.
I hope this helps you
John
