I haven't seen them personally but Australian Birdkeeper magazine always has articles on zoos and such that have large Australian themed aviaries. If you could get some of the magazines they might help.

The only ones I have seen were in an aviary on their own.

Yeah i have magazines, and i have seen gang gansg housed with Rosellas, Honeyeater, Tawny F.Mouth and Malleefowl, i have heard that they eat a fair bit of meat, so i am a bit Unsteady about mixing them with finches. Does anyone have the ABK Guide to Black Cockatoos handy?

Oh man, I wouldn't even consider the option ........be like a jumbo jet hitting an ultra light if the finch got in the way !!! I think you'd need a huger avairy so that the finches could hide and not be seen as food for the gang's

Ohh ok so you are confirming that they do eat a fair amount of meat, or have a preferance for it?

Gang Gangs with finches..... Jebus, I've never seen that, even in a zoo. I have only seen them with major mitchels but they were pets and were raised together.
I wouldn't advise it, Gang gangs are carnivirous and will eat finches if they can get a hold of them.. I've seen them eat mice and such with that mighty powerful beack just rip them apart like a hot knife through butter.

Yep Gang Gang also love to eat mice, something that is better not watched! Gang Gang like some food on the hoof, and if you want to keep the finches please don't house the two sorts together.

Hi guys, i have gangs and i keep them in a large avairy with Japanese quail. I don't have any problems with this at all. What has been said about them liking meat is true BUT i present the meat,(chicken bones, chop bones etc) to them as bones not as whole carcasses. They don't seem to have associated the quail, or mice(darn pests-hence the idea of having the quail!!!)as 'meat'. I guess it depends on how they are used to seeing the food. I perhaps wouldn't keep very small finches with them but it also depends on if you are planning on having 1 gang plus other birds or lots of them. You will also have trouble keeping the avairy planted as they like to destroy all plant life!!!! I give fresh brouse as activity for them so using this as cover for the small birds won't be much good. Taronga zoo house a young pair in their wollomi exhibit with lots of other small to med size birds without too much trouble. Personally i would not keep them all together unless it was a VERY large avairy and you are able to spend a lot of time 'entertaining' the gangs! Good luck!!!

My parents had Gang-gangs in a mixed parrot aviary (many years ago) without problems. They didn't keep finches though.
