no she really was a good and lovely girl. Towards the end she become nippy and I thought she might be hormonal but she died a few months later.........in hindsight there was probably something else wrong with her. I was devastated when she died. I was at an obedience trial when one of the kids rang me hysterical and told me Bo had died. I had to go behind the shed for a while and have a good cry.

Ok, They will always do a little bit of screeching in the morning and afternoon, although exessive screaming for attention is not really supposed to happen
I give my birds: A Base of Seed and Pellets (always available) UNSALTED nuts at treats A wide range of fruit and veggies during the day A little bit of cooked pasta during the week
What NOT to feed: Avacado Chocolate caffine lettuce (because it wastes space in their stomach) Black sun flower seeds (grey or white only, in moderation)

whats wrong with cockatoo's eatting black sun flower seeds? we used to feed them all the time to our sulphur crested

Black Sunflower has a much higher oil content than grey sunflower or safflower, and is therefore only recommended for chooks and horses.
