Thanks guys Does anyone know when princesses develop the eye colour so you can distinguish the sexes? I might need to do some reading tonight so we can choose a name

I thought with princesses it was colouring around the rump and the top of the head that distinguished them. But hey I could be wrong ;D

Yea That's how we tell the sex " the above the rump thing " I just can't remember how long it took tho. From memory with last year's clutch I think it was just after they were weaned. We hand reared them so it was probably slower than yours being parent raised At the moment ours are about 6 -7 weeks & I can't tell safely yet

In my adult pairs the hens have an orange circle around their eyeballs and the cocks don't. sofar the bub doesn't but he/she is feathering up quickly so I'll check out the rump.

Thanks Greg, I'm leaning towards "he" too atm, I suppose he'll need a name soon. He's such a cutie, because I fussed over him in the nest and changed he bedding he's not scared of me so I can pick him up and he'll sit on my arm for a while before flying off. No idea what I'll do with him yet just look at how pretty he is

It's great when your young birds trust you enough to sit on your hand/arm,the only problem l find hard is selling them..
