I'm thinking about getting a princess parrot and am wanting any info you can give such as best diet, behaviour, settling in etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have a pair of normal Princes Parrots and they are the most wonderful birds I have ever struck, they are quiet, peaceful and get on so well with other birds. I recommend them to any one that wants a great bird, I feed them the same as i feed my tiels as they are in the same aviary. The young can be hand raised and make wonderful pets they talk and love to interact with people. I always wanted a pair of Princess,s and I am not disappointed I got them.

Thanks John. A breeder I know is giving me a baby to handrear next season. If there are any blues I will get one of them but if not normals are still very beautiful. I'm SOOOO excited, it's so long to wait though. I may still get another before then or maybe a tiel as my daughter wants one and I need a friend for my baby maggie, Pippin.

I have two beautiful Princess boys-Tjinimin and Manikay. I got Tjinimin as a fully weaned 10 week old and Manikay as a 24 day old chick whom I handreared until he weaned about 10 days ago. I LOVE these little guys! They are the most awesome little birds! They are peaceful and get along very well with the Cockatiels in the indoor walk-in aviary and Manikay even gets along well with Chaska, my Quaker. For some reason she likes green Manikay and not blue Tjinimin. The two Princesses are fearless and nothing fazes them. Last week I had them in flight suits walking all over the place, they weren't worried at all. You would think they were born wearing flight suits! They will crawl all over me, sit on my shoulder but they are not real fond of scritches. They will run over and share my food-I am on Atkins so it is healthy food. I highly recommend Princess Parrots to anyone!

I'm really happy to hear all these glowing reports about Princesses as they are the next birds I buy.
