Thats it Natalie, youve found it , I feed it mainly to my Parrots, they like the seeds and flowers, my Kakariki likes them better than anything else. Cheers Tony

Thanks Nat for the pics of this plant. Can't say I have seen it in the suburbs here but there are a few empty paddock up near where my son works that have plants with yellow flowers on it so will go & have a look to see if it is the same. There are heaps of milk thistles in this paddock so I will be collecting some of those for my birds. Thanks for your help. Cheers Anna

Finally someone has found a use for Cobblers peg!!! Actually i thought you were just swearing at us all when i saw this thread..LOL I have quite a few of those nasties that keep coming up in the garden so with the dandelions as well looks like my yard will be weed free and my tiels will be healthy! I remember when i was a kid there was a big padock at the end of my street and this stuff used to grow wild we would get it caught in our sox and use the flower head as spears because they would stick to us. I never knew what it was called I wish the padock was still there ;D
