Just stumbled across a chap that has made the same winnower from the plans you posted Frank and he has step by step pictures. I found I understood easy how the winnower works with help from the photos. quicksitebuilder.cnet.com/andrebelg/id23.html

Top site Deb. MMMMM now do I approch my lovely hubby with yet another project to do ;D ;D ;D. On seconds thoughts better wait till breeding season is over as he has a backlog of things to make for me at the moment. I just love breeding season but I think hubby is glad when it's over. Hi and no probs Claire if i was to make another i'd would use clear perspex for the front so you can see thru it.

A seed Winnower is a specialy designed box that seperates Seed Husks from the good seed so that rather than throw out uneaten seeds you collect it at the bottom of the box for reuse.The unit is run by a Vacuum Cleaner attached to the box and is generally used when one has a lot of birds with a lot of wasteage! ;D cheers
