I got a message and deleted it now it's showing I have
-1 messages and 0 new messages. How can I get rid of the -1 when I click on it it says I have no messages.

The problem is with a bit of code put in to the forum by Proboards Ollie I am having the same trouble. To get rid of it disable the automatic notification and rely on the message under the banner to tell you if you have a PM.

Hi Bev at the top of the page you will see a heading under the messages that says "profile" click on it and then click on "Bookmarks" then click on the left side bottom where it says
"Click here to manage your bookmarks preferences." then choose no notification! ;D
