I found the first Cockatiel I ever got dead in the aviary this morning. Poor old "Bonker" was, according to his leg band, 22 years old. He was not in the best of health latly and I was expecting to go soon but it doesnt make it any easier, he was just sitting in his favorite spot on an old nesting box I had put there for him and it seemed he just went to sleep his mate was cuddled up beside him as if to say goodbye, I buried him in a special place. Thanks Frank, he was never hand raised or a tame bird but i could always stroke him, as long as i didnt get too friendly ;D he was a special friend and I am going to miss him greeting me in the aviary every morning. His mate is going crazy calling to him at the moment I guess she will find another mate.

Sorry to hear about Bonker John, 22 years old and he just went off in his sleep, if he had to go that is the best way. It is never easy when we loose our birdie friends, we have all been there and we know what it feels like. Just think....old Bonker has angelic wings now. Chin Up.....Debs
